Kendra crowned ‘Best Service and Maintenance Provider’ at the 2026 BCIA Awards

We’re proud to share that Kendra has won Best Service and Maintenance Provider at the 2026 BCIA Awards. It’s the fourth time we’ve won this award in the past 11 years, which is a huge testament to our dedicated teams.

The BCIA award ceremony is the biggest night in the building controls industry calendar, celebrating the best companies, projects and people from across the UK.

This year was a special one for us because alongside being shortlisted for Best Service and Maintenance Provider and Apprentice of the Year, our client, the Francis Crick Institute, was shortlisted for the brand-new Sustainability Strategy Champion award.

The Crick’s entry recognised the impressive sustainability milestones our teams have delivered together. And, incredibly, they went on to become the first ever winners of this award category, making it a brilliant, shared success all around.

Award-winning service and maintenance

Our winning entry focused on the work we delivered with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust at Gatton Place, one of the Trust’s most challenging and energy-intensive buildings.

Working in a live NHS environment, we transformed the site through a full BEMS refurbishment, upgraded controls, real-time analytics and a shift from reactive maintenance to a more proactive, condition-based approach.

The project delivered:

  • Improved comfort for building users
  • Greater visibility and control across the building
  • Reduced energy waste and reactive callouts
  • A full ROI in under 12 months
  • Projected annual savings of more than £34,500

Most importantly, it reflects how we like to work, closely with our customers, solving problems together and focusing on long-term improvements rather than quick fixes.

What the client said

“Gatton Place has historically been one of the Trust’s most challenging sites in terms of energy consumption and environmental control. Since engaging Kendra as a partner, we’ve received detailed advice and tailored solutions for optimising the building’s performance.

The Service and Projects Team have impressed us with the quality of their reports and proposals and their ability to carry out optimisation and upgrades with minimal disruption to a live NHS environment.

The results have been transformative. Gatton Place now operates under close environmental control, with significantly improved energy efficiency. Kendra’s PROActiv Analytics platform provides immediate, real-time access to control data, enabling the estates team to identify and resolve issues proactively, improving operational reliability and occupant comfort.

Staff engagement has also increased, as visible controls and monitoring interfaces allow building users to better understand and interact with their environment. Financial savings are clear and the intelligence-led approach ensures ongoing optimisation while supporting sustainability goals.

We’re extremely satisfied with the partnership and Kendra’s responsiveness and innovation. Gatton Place now serves as a benchmark for smarter building management across the estate and we look forward to continuing this work together.”
